Monday-June 1, 2009-Camping

We decided to get out of the city for a few days. Actually, my Mom, being a pain in the butt decided it for us. Ever since she came home from Blair's house, last Friday. She decided to bring Blair and her unruly brood to spend the weekend at our house. That means three kids and a big Pitt bull. Our house is already filled to capacity. Six people already reside in our house, not to mention our four cats and two dogs. I had a problem with this for two reasons, first, Blair and I don't get along. I don't agree with her lifestyle her personality and mine clash big time. Second, she didn't even run it by us to see if it was alright that she invited a family of four to stay the weekend. I mean come on we all pay rent. I made sure it was okay with her when I let Anna's little friend stay overnight. So needless to say we had a huge fight and things were said. It's one thing if I have a disagreement with Cheri, but then Blair turns into the total bitch and says stuff she has no business saying. I'm not gonna repeat what she said because, I would have to tell you the entire back history on her thoughtless comments. So, we decided to come up to Flagstaff and have our first family camping trip.
We drove up the I-17 until we reached the outskirts of Flagstaff. We have lived in Arizona for five years now and never been outside of Phoenix. Anyways, we came upon the Fort Tuthill Camp Grouds. A sign said camping so, we turned off and here we are. We have a nice spot at the back of the camp grounds. Far from the bathrooms, but close to the nature trails. We start by setting up the tent that Jeremy bought three or four years ago. It is a three room tent, two "bedrooms" and one screened in porch. Jeremy has never put up this tent before, so it took a little longer than usual. We both found our groove though and had it up in 45 minutes. That was after we moved it three times. We blew up the air mattresses, my back can't take the ground, and unloaded the rest of the stuff. So far I think Jeremy has had the most fun starting the fire. I didn't realize he was so good at it. He had that thing roaring in no time. After that he made the trek to the nearest grocery store. Bringing us to now, Anna and I are sitting here waiting for him and Georgia to return. It is pretty chilly here. I am glad that I thought to pack some warm clothes. Hopefully Jeremy won't get too cold, he didn't think he would need a sweater. I am sitting here at the picnic table, watching the fire, and waiting for it to get dark. I haven't been camping since I was Anna's age, eight years old. I guess we'll see how it goes....
